RaajjeTV, the most popular channel in Maldives, has stated that it will give equal time to all presidential candidates.
RaajjeTV stated that it has always had a policy of providing equal opportunity to diverse political opinions and has always encouraged freedom of expression within religious boundaries.
The TV station noted that their journalists have faced obstruction when working to provide equal content by being barred from attending some events and their microphones being removed from podiums.
Other setbacks include being handed huge fines for the sole purpose of damaging the station, added RaajjeTV.
Despite these hindrances, RaajjeTV said it is preparing to give equal coverage to party and independent candidates for the upcoming presidential elections.
RaajjeTV is the first 24 news channel of Maldives.
