Opportunities have opened for the post of Secretary General at the parliament.
An announcement made by the parliament states that the opportunity to apply for the vacated position of Secretary General is open till the 18th of June.
Applicants require to be qualified enough in the legal profession and need to have enough knowledge to hold discussions in the Parliament who is also above the age of 25.
The allocated monthly allowance for the position of Secretary General of Parliament is MVR 50,000.
Ahmed Mohamed who priory served as Secretary General had resigned from position on the 04th of February. He had served as Secretary General for 12 years and six months.
Mohamed’s resignation came at a time when the Elections Commission had unseated 12 opposition parliament members for breaking police ranks to enter the parliament in 2017, following which the Supreme Court had issued a ruling on the 01st of February declaring the commission’s decision as void.
