Tuna prices plummet nearing end of Ramadan
 
Prices hiked to MVR 80 in mid-Ramadan
 
At the beginning of Ramadan a kilogram of tuna was priced between MVR 40 and MVR 45

Prices are expected to hike again when Eid approaches

Tuna fish price at the local fish market has dropped to MVR 50 from MVR 80.

Merchants at the local fish market speaking to RaajjeMV said that the plummet in fish prices comes following the abundance in stock arrivals from local fishermen.

However, prices are expected to hike when Eid approaches.

Since it is the last few days of Ramadan, reef fish is scarce at the local fish market, however stock in tuna has increased significantly.

Looking at fish prices, a kilogram of tuna is available between MVR 35 and MVR 50.

According to merchants at the local fish market, usually fish prices increase during the last few days of Ramadan however, this year prices had plummeted due to abundance in stock.

At the beginning of Ramadan a kilogram of tuna was priced between MVR 40 and MVR 45, with the prices hiking significantly mid-Ramadan ranging between MVR 70 and MVR 80.
