Both hearings are scheduled for 03:00 pm. While one case is regarding the allegations of obstruction of justice, the other one is over terrorism allegations.

However, it is not clear which hearing will be held first since trials are to be held seperately. President Maumoon, as well as Chief of Justice Abdulla Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed were alleged of obstruction of justice when they refused to hand over their mobile phones after being taken into police custody.

Additionally, President Maumoon received terrorism allegations for allegedly bribing Justices and parliament members to unlawfully overthrow the government.

Both the trials which were proceeding at a rapid speed was hindered since his health condition has gotten serious.

President Maumoon who is to be kept in Dhoonidhoo jail until a decision is made on the case regarding obstruction of justice, has requested the court to transfer him to house arrest.

Aside from President Maumoon, his son Faris Maumoon as well as son in law Mohamed Nadheem have received terrorism allegations. While they are also to be kept in jail until the end of their trials, President Maumoon's daughter, Former State Minister Yumna Maumoon has also been alleged of bribing individuals to unlawfully overthrow the current government.
