Reports of ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM)'s Parliamentary Group leader, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik having buying an apartment, worth MVR 4.7 million, in Hulhumale's lavish Platinum Residences for his son has surfaced.
A hearing in the case was held at the Civil Court at 3:30pm on Thursday.
According to the Civil Court scheduling, Platinum Residences apartment number C2-3/4's proprietorship is to be registered under Mohamed Alaan Ahmed
When contacted by RaajjeMV for inquiries, Nihan refused to comment on the matter.
However, speaking to online news outlet "Avas.mv" the PG leader said that it has been nine years since he became a parliamentarian, adding that he receives up to MVR 79,000 as a monthly allowance, which adds to MVR 8.5 million up till date.
Nihan further said that he does not have much to say about the matter and if media has any further queries on the matter, they should reach out to independent institutions to get their answers.
According to posts on MP Nihan's social media accounts, he had gifted his one and only son a lavish BMW car in October last year, to celebrate his 18th Birthday.

While procedures are underway for the proprietorship of the Platinum Residences apartment to be handed over to the 18-year-old, an issue regarding PPM's Deputy Leader and Parliament Member for Fonadhoo constituency, Abdul Raheem Abdulla buying two apartments in Rehendhi Residences, for MVR 9 million, surfaced earlier.
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) had recently confirmed that an investigation has been launched in to Raheem's case.
