Ahmed Nadheem and Yumna Maumoon
Ahmed Nadheem, husband of key opposition figure and former First Daughter Yumna Maumoon, was arrested this evening.
RaajjeMV understands that Nadheem was arrested outside of Endherimaage, residence of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Nadheem's father-in-law.
Reportedly Nadheem was arrested on terror charges.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) is yet to make a statement regarding the arrest.
Nadheem's arrest comes at a time when officers of MPS are beefing up security around Supreme Court and opposition figures are gathering in haruge, main campaign house of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
