Disagreements between activists will not affect coalition: Riyaz
JP’s deputy Riyaz says “healthy competition” between parties will only strengthen them

Disagreements between social media activists will not affect the opposition coalition, says Jumhoree Party (JP)’s deputy leader Abdulla Riyaz.

Supporters of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and JP have been trading jabs online following the results of polls hosted by RaajjeTV.

Ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has predicted that the opposition coalition parties will soon disband. But JP’s deputy Riyaz has said that “healthy competition” between parties will only strengthen them.

Assuring that coalition activities will strengthen after the joint-party conference in Maamigili on January 11, Riyaz noted that the parties are already in discussions to draft joint-party manifesto. He also vowed that JP is willing to compromise for the greater goals of the coalition parties.

Riyaz added that there is no doubt as to the joint opposition winning the election.
