Expected to sign four agreements

President Abdullah Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have arrived in United Arab Emirates.

The trip is an invitational one extended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan.

President Yameen is expected to sign four agreements in this trip, including agreements on investment protection, avoidance of double taxation, visa waiver on diplomatic and official visa and development project of Velana International Airport.

It is also expected that the two nations will sign the agreement on the US$ 40 million loan agreement for development of VIA from Abu Dhabi Fund. However, no official statement had been released.

The trip is a three-day trip.

RaajjeTV also understands that this trip will seek to increase finances for budget support.

Maldives and UAE are currently marking 40 years of diplomatic ties.
