Parliament Speaker to address 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union

The Speaker is scheduled to deliver an address on good governance and community empowerment during the assembly, which takes place as the Parliament prepares to commence its third session of the year.

The Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, is scheduled to address the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), according to the Parliament Secretariat. The assembly is being held from the 5th to the 9th of this month.
The Parliament Secretariat has announced that Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla has arrived in Arusha, Tanzania, to participate in the assembly. According to the Secretariat, the Speaker is scheduled to deliver an address on the theme: "Promoting Good Governance and Empowering Communities through Inclusivity, Trust, and Opportunity."
According to the Parliament, the Speaker is accompanied on this trip by a high-level delegation including Member for Hulhudhoo Constituency Mohamed Shahid, Member for Baarah Constituency Ibrahim Shujau, Member for Central Maafannu Constituency Asma Rasheed, Member for Huraa Constituency Dr. Anara Naeem, Member for Nilandhoo Constituency Fathimath Saudha, Member for Gadhdhoo Constituency Mohamed Ali, and Member for Thoddoo Constituency Hussain Sameer. The delegation also includes Counsel General Uza. Fathimath Filza, Chief of Bureau Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik, and Assistant Director General of the Foreign Relations Department Zuyyina Badhury.
While the assembly is scheduled to take place from the 5th to the 9th of this month, the third session of the Parliament for this year began on Monday, October 5th.
