Speaking at the ceremony, PNC Chairperson Abdul Raheem Abdulla highlighted that the party's membership has surged from 3,000 to over 80,000 within the past two years, attributing this growth to the party's commitment to working closely with the public. He further assured President Muizzu that all party members remain steadfast in their loyalty and sincerity toward sustaining the current administration.
Furthermore, Abdul Raheem highlighted that President Muizzu assumed office at a time when the nation's economy was in a severe state of collapse. Drawing a comparison to a phrase previously used by President Nasheed, he remarked that this administration inherited nothing more than a "debt receipt." Consequently, he emphasized the need for national-level cooperation to support President Muizzu’s rigorous efforts to build "Dhiveheenge Raajje" (The Nation of the Maldivians). Abdul Raheem further outlined the reasons why President Muizzu deserves a second term in office. President Nasheed responded to these remarks with applause and a show of support.
The PNC congress is scheduled to take place from Tuesday through Friday.
