The Annual General Meeting of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has approved a dividend distribution of 50 Laari (half a Rufiyaa) per share.

The decision was finalized during MTDC's Annual General Meeting held at Hotel Jen, where it was noted that the dividend payout remains unchanged from the previous year.

The resolution was passed with 99 percent of the vote at the meeting, which was attended by 1,223 of the company's shareholders.

It has also been decided that these benefits will be available exclusively to shareholders listed in the company's registry as of August 11, 2026.

Compared to 2024, the company's revenue last year saw a decline of 1.86 percent.

In 2025, the company’s gross profit declined by 5.55 percent, driven by a decrease in revenue and an increase in direct production costs. Consequently, the profit fell to USD 2.93 million, down from the USD 3.10 million recorded in 2024.

The company's total liabilities rose from USD 37.33 million to USD 41.45 million, driven by an increase in trade payables related to capital expenditures.

MTDC has issued a total of 34,087,354 shares.

According to the company's shareholding structure, the general public holds a 53 percent stake, equivalent to 18,428,278 shares. The remaining 47 percent, or 15,659,076 shares, is held by the Government of Maldives.

The Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), established by the government in 2006 to extend the benefits of the tourism industry to the general public, recorded a net profit of $2 million after tax for the year 2025. This marks an increase from the $1.9 million in profit reported by the company in 2024.
