MP Azim; one of the MPs summoned to Police

Summons have been issued on opposition Central Henveyru Constituency MP Ali Azim and Nolhivaram Constituency MP Hussain Areef.

Summons were issued on MP Azim for noon on Thursday.

Summons were issued on MP Areef for 4pm on Thursday.

Vaikaradhoo Constituency Member of Parliament Mohamed Nazim had also been ordered to present himself at Police on Thursday. Summons were issued on him for 2.30pm.

Several opposition MPs are currently either under investigation or on trial or sentenced on various charges.

The opposition claimed that no amount of intimidation will force their surrender. Nazim is one of the many MPs vocally opposing the present administration.
