Abdulla Rasheed, the MDP National Congress President for the Naifaru constituency, has stated that services at Naifaru Hospital have come to a standstill, causing significant hardship for the local community.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s 'Vaudhunaama' program, he accused the current administration of neglecting the healthcare sector in Naifaru. Abdulla Rasheed stated that the declining quality of services at Naifaru Hospital and the unavailability of essential medical care have caused significant hardships for the island's residents.
Abdulla Rasheed stated that the hospital in Naifaru must be upgraded to tertiary standards to improve healthcare services in the island. However, he noted that the current administration has yet to undertake any efforts toward the development of Naifaru Hospital.

Highlighting the decline in services at Naifaru Hospital, Abdulla Rasheed stated that today, even a patient requiring a simple tooth extraction is forced to travel to Male' for treatment.
I am stating this as a direct challenge: today, even someone who simply needs a tooth extraction is forced to travel to Male'. Just yesterday, I met a resident from Naifaru who had to come to the capital because dental services were unavailable on their island. This individual had been waiting for six months to have a tooth removed. They finally came to Male' yesterday because they could no longer bear the pain. I personally met them and discussed the situation. After I provided some assistance to facilitate their stay here, they were finally able to get the extraction done and return home.Abdulla Rasheed
Abdulla Rasheed stated that during the previous MDP administration, significant efforts were made to develop the Atoll Hospital in Naifaru, including the introduction of several new services. However, he noted that these services have since deteriorated day by day, reaching a point where they are currently unavailable to the public.
