Government employees' salaries can be disbursed on the 28th and 31st of this month: Ministry
Amid growing employee concerns over not receiving salaries before the Eid holidays, the Ministry of Finance has announced that June salaries will be disbursed on the 28th and 31st in accordance with state financial regulations and bank opening hours. The Ministry clarified that although salary sheets were prepared in advance, the current schedule was finalized due to the extended bank holidays. This delay in salary processing has drawn widespread criticism from civil servants, particularly at a time when government expenditure on payroll remains high.

Amidst growing public frustration over the government's failure to disburse salaries before the Eid holidays, the Ministry of Finance has announced that the payment of salaries and allowances for this month will commence on Thursday, June 28.
The Ministry announced on Tuesday that civil servants will receive their salaries for the month of May on the 28th and 31st of this month.
The Ministry of Finance provided this information in response to media inquiries regarding mounting employee concerns over salary delays. The Ministry stated that salaries and allowances for the month of May will be deposited by the end of this week and the beginning of next week. This Thursday is the only day banks will remain open during the current Eid holiday period. According to the Ministry, the salary disbursement schedule was finalized after considering the specific hours banks will be operational.
Employees across various government agencies are expressing significant concern after failing to receive their salaries ahead of the Eid holidays. Many staff members had anticipated that their pay would be disbursed before offices closed for the festive break. According to available information, the Ministry of Finance had initially aimed to process salary payments prior to the Eid closure. To facilitate this, government ministries had prepared allowance calculations up to the 10th of this month and submitted the completed payroll sheets to the Finance Ministry.
While the government attributes the delay in salary payments to the Eid holidays, there has been a significant surge in the number of civil servants recently, leading to a substantial rise in expenditure on salaries and benefits. Furthermore, it is noted that spending on state employees has multiplied following the adjustments brought about by the pay harmonization initiative.
