Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Nazim, has been removed from the Parliament’s two most influential committees: the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on National Security Services (241 Committee).

Although no formal announcement has been made regarding the removal of Nazim from the two committees on which he served, the People’s Majlis website indicates that he has been dismissed from both.

Nazim presided over Tuesday's sitting of the People's Majlis. Although changes to committee memberships are typically announced by the chair, no such announcement was made during Tuesday's session.

The People's National Congress (PNC) has appointed Ahmed Zameer, the Member of Parliament for Machangolhi Medhu constituency, to replace Nazim on the Public Accounts Committee. Additionally, the PNC has appointed Hamad Abdulla, the Member of Parliament for Fuvahmulah North constituency, to replace Nazim on the 241 Committee (the Committee on National Security Services).
