New clinic "Star Medical" opens, offering specialist services, laboratory facilities, and expert medical care

A new clinic named "Star Medical" has officially opened, offering a range of specialist services, laboratory facilities, and consultations with some of the Maldives' most prominent medical professionals.

Star Clinic was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness, Abdulla Rafiu. Speaking to RaajjeMV regarding the clinic's operations, Fathimath Fareema, a nurse at the facility, stated that Star Medical provides a range of specialized medical services. These include consultations with specialists in gynecology, internal medicine, and pediatrics. In addition to specialist care, general practitioners will also be available at the clinic. Fareema further noted that the facility is now offering comprehensive services, including medical check-ups, laboratory testing, ultrasound scans, and X-ray services.

Fareema stated that new services will continue to be introduced. She added that updates regarding these services will be shared via social media.

Specialized tests for women, such as monitoring fetal movement and heart rate during pregnancy, will be available. Additionally, our services will include routine procedures such as blood pressure and glucose monitoring, administering injections, wound dressing, and nebulization. As we launch these new services, our key offerings will include X-rays, ultrasound scans, and Non-Stress Tests (NST)—a specialized procedure conducted during pregnancy. Laboratory services will also be provided on-site.

Fareema stated that the clinic officially opened on Monday. It will be operational daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the clinic directly or via SMS.

She stated that public cooperation is essential to making services as accessible and convenient as possible. In this regard, she noted that the clinic welcomes constructive feedback on areas requiring improvement.

This facility has been inaugurated with Aasandha services fully integrated. I am confident that patients will find the services here both accessible and convenient. Our specialists, including our gynecologists and pediatricians, are highly regarded and well-known across the Maldives. These are seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the field. Rather than new practitioners, the majority of the doctors consulting here are the same trusted experts who practice at major clinics and government hospitals throughout the country.

Fareema stated that additional new services will continue to be introduced. She further expressed her hope that the clinic will provide high-quality services that meet the expectations and approval of the public.

The clinic has been designed to ensure easy accessibility for all patients, featuring barrier-free entry and exit points specifically tailored for wheelchair users. In addition to providing streamlined services for all patients, the facility offers priority care for individuals using wheelchairs, allowing them to receive medical attention without having to wait in queues.

The clinic offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including specialized treatments for neurology, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, dermatology, psychiatry, and orthopedics. In addition to general practitioner consultations and anesthesiology services, the facility provides diagnostic and clinical support such as ultrasound scans, X-rays, ECGs, and NSTs. Patients also have access to full laboratory services, professional nursing care, injections, nebulization, blood collection, and wound dressing.

Star Clinic is located on the first floor of M. Golden Tower on Buruzu Magu.
