Candidate signature process for final voter registry to open Tuesday
The Elections Commission has opened the window for candidates to sign the final voter registry for the 2026 elections, scheduled from March 17 to 19. The Commission urges all candidates or their designated representatives to visit the election headquarters within this period to complete the signing process. Those opting to send a representative must ensure they present the required documentation as specified by the Commission.

The Elections Commission has announced that candidates will be granted the opportunity to sign the final voter registry on Tuesday for the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections, as well as the scheduled national referendum, all of which are set to take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
The opportunity to sign the register has been extended to candidates contesting the elections or representatives designated by them.
According to the Elections Commission, the signing of the final voters' registry is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, March 17, 2026, through Thursday, March 19, 2026. Arrangements have been made for signing between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and from 9:30 PM to 12:00 AM daily during this period. The signing process will be conducted at the Elections Commission's Election Centre.
The Elections Commission has stated that if a representative is to sign on behalf of a candidate, a signed authorization letter from the candidate must be submitted. This letter must include the representative's full name, permanent address, and national identification card number. Furthermore, the Commission specified that a copy of the candidate’s ID card must be provided, and the representative must present their original ID card at the time of signing.
The Elections Commission has urged all candidates to complete the signing of the voter registry within the designated timeframe.
