Dhiraagu clinches top broadband title at Asian Telecom Awards 2026

Dhiraagu has been named the Maldives’ Broadband Telecom Company of the Year at the Asian Telecom Awards.
The Asian Telecom Awards recognize outstanding achievements within the region’s telecommunications sector, spotlighting companies that have introduced significant advancements aimed at transforming the digital landscape.
The Broadband Telecom Company of the Year accolade acknowledges Dhiraagu’s delivery of 100 percent high-speed fibre broadband access to every household on all inhabited islands across the Maldives.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed stated that the award reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to provide an enhanced broadband experience and to advance digital inclusion nationwide, noting that mobile broadband now covers the entire population and high-speed fibre broadband through Fibre-to-the-Home is available to every residence on inhabited islands. He also conveyed appreciation to customers for their continued trust and for being part of the network.
Dhiraagu reports 100 percent 4G broadband coverage across all inhabited islands, resort islands, and major industrial islands. The company has also achieved full Fibre-to-the-Home coverage to households throughout the Maldives, while its 5G services currently reach 73 percent of the population.
In addition, the company has recently been recognized by the Ookla Speedtest Awards as the Fastest 5G Network, Best 5G Network, and Best 5G Gaming Experience, based on data from Ookla Speedtest Intelligence for the first half of 2025.
