Dhiraagu unveils Calendar 2026 highlighting marine interconnectedness, national connectivity

Dhiraagu has officially launched its Calendar 2026 under the theme “A Year of Marine Interconnectedness,” drawing parallels between the Maldives’ ocean ecosystems and Dhiraagu’s role in connecting the nation.

The calendar was unveiled at a dedicated event by Dhiraagu’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Ismail Rasheed, attended by senior Dhiraagu officials as well as ocean and environmental enthusiasts with a shared interest in marine conservation and sustainability.

During the event, Dhiraagu’s Director of Brand and Marketing Communications, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, highlighted that the calendar emphasizes the significance of marine interconnectedness and its essential role in sustaining the environment. He noted that by illustrating the complex relationships within marine ecosystems, the initiative aims to encourage greater awareness, responsibility and action toward ocean protection, which remains a core focus of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility programme.

The calendar features underwater imagery celebrating the diversity and beauty of the Maldives’ marine environment. Each month focuses on specific marine species, showcasing their interconnected and symbiotic relationships. These relationships, based on mutual nourishment, protection and shared habitats, underscore how marine life depends on connection, reflecting the closely interdependent relationship between people and the ocean.

As the nation’s digital backbone, Dhiraagu symbolizes connectivity in a manner comparable to the ocean’s role as the Maldives’ most powerful representation of interconnectedness.
