Eid is a time for celebration and must be celebrated with a clear conscience, says the sermon for this year’s Eid al-Adha.
The sermon was on the purpose of Eid al-Adha.
The sermon had advised to all on unity, respect sanctity of life and respect individual liberties. The day, the sermon said, must be celebrated by paying thanks and reflection.
This year’s Eid prayer was observed in many mosques. The prayer was observed in congregation in the stadium.
Around 500 goats were butchered as sacrifice in capital Male’, with many coming into observe the event.
