A 17-year-old boy has died following a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in Fuvahmulah City.
According to the Maldives Police Service (MPS), the accident took place around 2:40am on Husnuheena Road in the Funaadu district. Authorities revealed that the motorcycle the teen was riding crashed into a wall, lost control, and subsequently struck a streetlight pole.
MPS went on to cite hospital reports having revealed that the victim was rushed to Fuvahmulah Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 3:38am.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the fatal accident.
