Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that it is a great honor to participate in the Maldives Independence Day celebrations.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’ on Wednesday before departing for an official visit to the United Kingdom, Modi revealed that he will be visiting the Maldives on July 25 at the invitation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Modi said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and the Maldives, and he has no doubt that the discussions with the Maldivian president will further strengthen the ties between the two countries in several fields.
The Indian Prime Minister is set to arrive in the Maldives on Friday after wrapping up his trip to the United Kingdom.
Modi is the first foreign leader to visit the Maldives during Muizzu's presidency.
This is the Prime Minister's third official visit to the Maldives.
