K-Park issue sidelined because Manday is at forefront of gov’t: Meekail
Meekail claims Manday, facing K-Park lawsuit, is at the forefront of Muizzu's government causing the issue to be neglected
K-Park apartment buyers are in a vulnerable state as they continue paying loans and rent while the government sidelines their issue
Manday faces 104 charges in court related to the K-Park Residences case

MP for South Galolhu constituency, Meekail Ahmed Naseem has revealed that Hassan “Manday” Mamdhooh, who is currently facing a lawsuit over the K-Park Residences, a condo being developed in Hulhumalé, is at the forefront of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's government, and that this is the reason why the K-Park issue is being neglected and sidelined.

Speaking during the debate on a resolution submitted by MP for North Galolhu constituency Mohamed Ibrahim regarding the prolonged unresolved issues related to the K-Park Residences housing project in Hulhumalé, MP Meekail said that the reason for the delay in allocating K-Park apartments needs to be clarified.

The lawmaker said that the current administration does not consider it important to resolve the K-Park issue and other fundamental housing issues related to the public. He added that what's important for this government presently is to reclaim a distant Fushidhiggaru lagoon by taking about MVR 600 million from the state reserves.

MP Meekail stated that the general public who bought apartments from K-Park are in a vulnerable state, and they are still paying off the loans they took to purchase apartments there. While living in rented accommodations, they are paying rent in addition to paying taxes to the state. He added that the current government continues to further impoverish these people.

Further, MP Meekail stated that the current administration has sidelined the K-Park issue, and Manday, faces a lawsuit in connection with the case, is seen at the forefront of the government.

Manday, who faces a lawsuit in the K-Park flats case, was conditionally released from detention on 3 July 2025, during a hearing held at the Criminal Court.

He was detained pending the outcome of the trial on 23 June 2025.

In connection with the case, 104 charges were submitted to the court against Manday. In addition to this, 97 charges were submitted to the court against Jaishan Saeed.
