VAM receives CAVA Gold Award
At the time the Maldives received CAVA's Gold Award, Mohamed Latheef, who hails from the Maldives, was serving as President of CAVA. He is now in his second term in that role and also serves as the President of VAM

The Central Asia Volleyball Association (CAVA) has presented its Gold Award to the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM).
The award was presented to VAM at CAVA's Annual General Meeting. The award was given to VAM at the meeting held on April 25 in Nepal's capital Kathmandu, and this is the first time CAVA has presented this award.
On behalf of VAM, the Gold Award was received by the association's General Secretary, Mohamed Saeed.
At CAVA's Annual General Meeting, awards were given in three categories. These are the International Excellence Award, Federation of the Year Award, and Performance Excellence Award.
In addition to this, CAVA also presented a special service medal. The medal was conferred to 13 recipients.
