A couple was severely burned in a fire that broke out in a house in Rasdhoo island of Alif Alif atoll.
The fire incident was reported late Monday.
RaajjeMV understands that the couple's condition is serious, and they have been brought to the capital Malé City for further treatment.
Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) revealed that the couple that sustained serious burn injuries in the incident are receiving treatment at the hospital. The couple is being treated in the emergency room.
According to the Maldives Police Service (MPS), the incident occurred around 11:15pm on Monday. The police institution went on to confirm that they are investigating the case of a fire breaking out in a house in Rasdhoo island.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, a resident of the island revealed that the fire incident occurred in the room where the injured couple was residing. He added that the couple was severely burned in the incident.
