The council office in Rasdhoo island of Alif Alif atoll, has been broken into and robbed.
A member of the council told RaajjeMV that the office was broken into on Tuesday night, and those responsible had done so through its back entrance.
They had reportedly stolen hard drives containing information on the council and constituents and petty cash adding up to MVR 1,800 – in addition to vandalizing the office by smearing the walls and other documents with derogatory phrases.
The incident has been reported to the police, and officers have gathered evidence in order to begin its investigation.
The police said that no arrests have been made thus far.
