Haidar and wife among flat recipients; claims more deserving people haven’t received flats
Haidar declined to receive a flat allocated to him and his wife, stating that there are families more deserving of the flat

Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed has asserted that although he and his wife have received a flat, there are individuals who are more deserving who have not received flats yet.
He said that in the flat list announced on Thursday, while he was a co-applicant, his wife Mariyam Thaufeeqa has been allocated a three-bedroom flat.
However, due to his current position, Haidar said that he declines to receive a flat under him and his wife's name, expressing belief that there are many families who deserve flats under the ‘Gedhoruveriyaa’ scheme more than they do as a couple.
In his statement, Haidar also announced his decision to respectfully relinquish the flat allocated to him and his wife under the scheme.
