The government has published the updated flat list under the ‘Gedhoruveriyaa’ scheme.

Regarding the list published in the gazette, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure stated that the work of verifying the list of 4,000 flat recipients, which was originally published under the announcement number (IUL)471-HDS3/471/2023/365 by the former Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 15 November 2023, has been completed and the updated list has been publicized.

The ministry said that two factors were considered in verifying the list. First, continuous residence in the capital Malé City for 15 years: In this regard, exceptions mentioned in the ministry's announcement number (IUL)491-CDS1/491/2025/2 (14 January 2025) were taken into account, and documents that could be submitted to prove eligibility as announced on the ‘Gedhoruveriyaa Portal’ on 26 June 2022, were checked and verified.

Second, points given based on the information provided by applicants in their forms: If there were any changes to the points given during the evaluation of forms on 15 November 2023, the reasons for these changes would be available on the portal.

After the investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) regarding the announcement number (IUL)471-HDS3/471/2023/365 made by the former Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 15 November 2023, and considering the corrections they instructed, the list verification process was carried out. The list published with the announcement includes those who meet two criteria.

This includes those who have documentation proving continuous residence in the capital Malé City for 15 years, and those who scored above the point thresholds set in the list published with the announcement number (IUL)471-HDS3/471/2023/365 on 15 November 2023, by the former Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. Specifically, 75 points or above for three-bedroom flats, and 73 points or above for two-bedroom flats.

The ministry noted that the opportunity to submit complaints regarding the list is open from 1 March 2025, to 31 March 2025. Applicants can submit complaints related to their applications through the 'Gedhoruveriyaa Portal'. Complaints about individuals on the list can be forwarded via email through [email protected] to or by letter addressed to the ministry.

In addition to this, during the complaint submission period, further information about the complaint process can be obtained by calling the ministry's numbers 4004911 and 4004910.

The ministry has decided to proceed without delay in allocating flats to eligible individuals who meet the criteria and have scored the required points from the list published with the announcement number (IUL)471-HDS3/471/2023/365 on 15 November 2023, by the former Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

Before allocating flats, the conditions specified in Article 3 (d), (e), and (f) of Regulation number 2022/G-20 (Regulation on Allocating Flats under the Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme) will be further verified by relevant authorities.

The ministry went on to reveal that for those on the list who do not meet the criteria or have not scored the required points, the flats previously allocated to them will not be reassigned to anyone else until complaints submitted before 31 March 2025, are reviewed and decided upon.
