A dangerous accident occurred in Malé on Sunday when a car skid out of control

A youth has been seriously injured in a dangerous accident in southernmost Addu City.

RaajjeMV understands that the person injured in the life-threatening accident is Mohamed Ilham, 18.

The accident occurred around 11:30am on Saturday in Hulhumeedhoo. The Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that they received a report of an accident involving an out-of-control motorcycle and that they are investigating the necessary aspects.

The young man initially received treatment at Addu Equatorial Hospital. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he has now been transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Regarding the condition of the youth, a media official at IGMH told RaajjeMV that his condition is serious and he is being treated on ventilator support.

While a young man has suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident in the southernmost city, a dangerous accident occurred in Malé on Sunday when a car skid out of control.

The police institution revealed that at around 7:50am on Sunday, a report was made of an accident where a car lost control near the Gaakoshi area on Ameenee Magu. MPS said that in he accident, six motorcycles and a car parked in the area were damaged.

While police are further investigating the case, RaajjeMV’s attempts to obtain more information related to the accident have been to no avail.

According to a video circulating on social media, an orange car lost control and mounted the pavement near the Gaakoshi flats. The car has sustained significant damage, with the front part severely damaged and some covers detached. The video also shows motorcycles parked behind the car fallen over.

Dangerous accidents continue to occur in Malé City and other densely populated islands. Some accidents have resulted in loss of life and severe injuries.
