Four arrested with drugs, large amount of cash

Four individuals have been arrested with a large amount of cash and drugs.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that four individuals were arrested with drugs and a large amount of money after searching an apartment in Hiyaa Flats during an operation conducted based on information received by the Drug Enforcement Department (DED).
The operation, carried out on December 23, led to the arrest of Ibrahim Shareef, 40, Abdulla Hassan, 41 native to Kolamaafushi island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll, Hussain Riyaz, 33 and native to Neykurendhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll, and Abdulla Jameel, 32 and native to Dhaandhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll.
All four individuals were arrested under a warrant from the Criminal Court while searching the Hiyaa Flat H9-20-11 apartment. During the search of the apartment, drugs, drug packaging equipment, a large amount of money, and numerous mobile phones were discovered.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the drug bust.
