Journalists who visited the site firsthand have confirmed the presence of a boundary wall built on the plot illegally allocated to Deputy Managing Director of Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, who is the elder brother of Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

It was revealed from Fazul's statement during a press conference held by HDC on Wednesday night that the plot allocated illegally to his elder brother Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed was sent to the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development for verification after permission was also granted to build a boundary wall.

After Wednesday’s press conference, some journalists went to the area where the plot mentioned in the letter sent to Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development Dr. Ali Haider, Hulhumalé Lot Number 20768, 1,250 square feet, was allocated. They witnessed the presence of a boundary wall built around said plot, which Fazul had tried very hard to defend and talk about during Wednesday's press conference.

Responding to a question from a journalist at Wednesday's press conference, Fazul said that nothing happens within HDC without his knowledge. However, when RaajjeTV inquired if he knew that the person given a plot and permission to build a boundary wall was his elder brother Fazeel, Fazul said he "didn't know."

When the issue of illegally allocating plots in Hulhumalé surfaced and churned chaos among the public, Fazul hastily hosted a press conference on Wednesday night. Instead of giving clear answers to the questions asked by journalists, Fazul tried to dodge the questions by being evasive. With this, journalists expressed dissatisfaction, saying they did not receive adequate answers to their questions.
