The man who was arrested for allegedly attempting to attack a police officer with a sharp object in Hulhumalé Phase I has been remanded until the end of his trial.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that a 33-year-old Maldivian man was arrested at around 06:30pm on November 22.
The 33-year-old is accused of attempting to attack someone with a sharp object in Hulhumalé Phase I.
The police institution added that the suspect attempted to attack the police officer who tried to stop him at that time.
MPS revealed that upon being presented before the court for a remand hearing in connection with the case, the suspect was remanded until the investigation wraps up.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
