Ooredoo celebrates 19th anniversary, expands 5G connectivity to 60 percent of Maldives
Ooredoo kicked off the countdown to two decades of dedication to connecting the people of the Maldives through cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions, on Wednesday.

Ooredoo Maldives has announced a range of new and enhanced services that reflect the telecommunication giant’s unwavering commitment to empower customers, and enrich their digital lives, as part of their 19th anniversary celebrations.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the telecom provider kicked off the countdown to two decades of dedication to connecting the people of the Maldives through cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions.

As such, the company has expanded nationwide coverage of their 5G, as part of their continuous efforts to enhance connectivity.

The telecom giant revealed that Ooredoo 5G will now be available to 60 percent of the Maldives, with 100 percent coverage to be achieved in Phase III.

Ooredoo revealed that this expansion has reaffirmed their position as a leader in digital innovation, providing faster speeds, lower latency, and a superior network experience to our customers across the nation.

Islands that will receive Ooredoo 5G include:

Shedding light on their loyalty program “Nojoom”, Ooredoo stated that it is designed to reward all our customers for their loyalty and support.

Through the program, customers can earn points with every transaction on Ooredoo App and redeem them for a wide range of Ooredoo services and third-party offerings.

The program underscores Ooredoo’s commitment to deliver value and enhance the experience for customers, and is also the loyalty program Ooredoo Group uses in several parts of the globe.

The company went on to note that their “Aachaa SuperNet” introduces daily data renewal, ensuring that customers stay connected and enjoy seamless internet access every day.

The enhancement is included in the company’s ongoing efforts to provide the best internet services in the Maldives.

Shedding light on the first of its kind in the Maldives “AI Postpaid”, Ooredoo revealed that the innovative service uses artificial intelligence to create personalized postpaid plans that cater to individual needs and usage patterns.

Customers can enjoy a plan that is uniquely theirs, offering unparalleled flexibility and value, with AI Postpaid.

Ooredoo also unveiled their new plan for Postpaid and Prepaid customers, “Hessa Data”, boasting the largest data allowances nationwide.

According to Ooredoo, this would be perfect for high data users who demand more from their internet service, providing them with the freedom to browse, stream, and connect without limits.

Touching upon “Aachaa DhanDhan”, their nightly data plan for social media enthusiasts, Ooredoo revealed that customers who love to binge on social media will particularly enjoy this plan. It offers a daily data allowance for major social apps, available during midnight from 1am to 5am.

“Aachaa DhanDhan” ensures customers can stay connected and engaged with their favorite social media platforms on a round-the-clock basis.

Further, Ooredoo has introduced “Entertainia”, a dedicated page for entertainment seekers as part of their anniversary celebration activities.

Highlighting that this new feature includes movie pack options with SonyLIV and Lionsgate Play, as well as social entertainment packs for Snapchat and TikTok, Ooredoo revealed that Entertainia is designed to cater to all your entertainment needs in one place.

Customers may also join Ooredoo Nation: Global Faceoff featuring a Maldives vs. Qatar Rocket League tournament with a prize pool of USD 1,919.

Ooredoo Nation: Global Faceoff will kick off on August 8 and conclude on August 9.
