RaajjeTV has begun the establishment of a nation-wide news network.
The first 24-hour news channel’s news network is titled ‘RaajjeTV News Network’.
The news network was launched in a ceremony held in RaajjeTV on Thursday by Maldives Media Council President Abdullah Mueedh Hassan, along with News Directors Husham Mohamed, Ali Yoosuf and RaajjeTV Chief Operating Officer Hussain Fiyaz Moosa.
Speaking in the ceremony, Fiyaz noted the focus of creating the network was to bring localized news from islands, with photos and videos to RaajjeTV. He added that this will vastly improve the content available to RaajjeTV viewers.
Fiyaz said a focal point will be established in every island and will act as an official journalist.
Interested applicants can send in their applications to RaajjeTV as well as to raajjetelevision@gmail.com.
Fiyaz noted that applicants will be reviewed and focal points will be appointed afterwards.
Speaking after inaugurating the network, Mueedh said this was an achievement for the station. He wished the station more achievements in the chain of achievements for the station. He also thanked the station’s journalists for their commitment. He added this was a golden opportunity for those joining as focal points and for media development.
