Police rescue kidnapped victim at Hulhumalé Hiyaa Tower

A kidnapped victim has been rescued from an apartment in one of the Hulhumalé Hiyaa Towers.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the victim was held hostage inside an apartment in a Hiyaa Tower by a group of 12 men.

Reports indicate that the hostage was being held in apartment 11 on the 20th floor of Hiyaa Tower 9.
MPS revealed that they received information about a person being held hostage at around 07:40pm on Thursday and authorities immediately began efforts to locate the person.
After discovering that the victim was on the 20th floor of H9, officers forced entry into the apartment by breaking down the door, acting under a court order.
The police institution revealed that officers found the victim with his head shaved.

Authorities reported that the victim showed no visible signs of physical injuries.
Further investigations are currently underway to determine if any others were involved in the case.
