A woman is being treated for injuries attained in an accident in the congested capital Malé City.

The accident occurred when two motorcycles collided on Wednesday night.

The woman was rushed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment to the injuries she sustained.

The accident occurred at around 10:11pm on Wednesday, when a motorcyclist getting off the Sinamalé Bridge and heading towards Koimala Hingun crashed into another motorcyclist on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, heading towards the bridge.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that a female passenger on one of the motorcycles was thrown off and fell, sustaining head injuries.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the accident.
