A man has been arrested for damaging the police station.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that a who broke the light at the western door of the Hulhumalé Phase I Police Station has been taken into police custody.
The police institution revealed that he was taken into custody around 04:15am on Sunday morning.
According to MPS, arrested in connection with the case is Zaidhan Mohamed Zahir, native to the capital Malé City.
MPS has revealed that Zahir came to the police station to retrieve his motorcycle after it was towed due to reckless driving.
He damaged the police station after arriving to collect his motorcycle.
Further, police revealed that upon searching him, a rubber packet containing suspected drugs was found inside his jeans pocket.
MPS has launched an investigation into two cases against Zaidhan; damaging the police station as well as possession of drugs.
