A Maldivian youth has died in a tragic accident in Hulhumalé.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the dangerous accident occurred in the early hours of Friday.
Deceased in the tragic crash is a 23-year-old Maldivian man.
MPS received reports of the accident at around 02:48am on Friday.
The accident occurred after a speeding car collided with a motorcycle near Hulhumalé Central Park.
The police institution went on to reveal that the youth riding the motorcycle sustained serious head injuries and died while receiving treatment at Hulhumalé Hospital.
A 26-year-old Maldivian man who was driving the car, was arrested in connection with the case.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the accident.
