Abdul Hannan Haleem Dhoshi Meyna Kilegefaanu has passed away.
Haleem, who served as the Public Safety Minister during the presidential term of Ibrahim Nasir, passed away at the age of 87.
He is to have passed away some time on Wednesday while receiving treatment at Tree Top Hospital.
Having served the state as the Minister of Public Safety for the first 10 years of the Second Republic of the Maldives, Haleem also served for the country as a Member of the Parliament and filled several other important positions spanning the course of his long career.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’ following his death, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu revealed that Haleem’s passing is a tragic loss to the entire country.
He also prayed for the mourning family of the deceased.
Haleem will be laid to rest after Isha Prayer on Wednesday. His funeral prayer will be held at the Hulhumalé Cemetery Mosque.
