Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the establishment of a USD ATM in Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll.

The country’s national bank revealed this in a press release issued on Monday.

As such, BML revealed that the new ATM installed at their Maafushi branch will allow individuals and businesses to withdraw and deposit USD, conveniently.

The bank revealed that this is the first USD ATM outside of the capital Malé City.

The USD ATM adds to the existing ATM network in Malé, Hulhumalé as well as Velana International Airport (VIA).

BML’s Director of Retail, Business and SME Banking Moosa Nimal expressed delight in introducing the first USD ATM in Maafushi to cater to the growing need for USD deposits and withdrawals on the island.

Highlighting that the economy of Maafushi island is thriving, Nimal said that as the island nation’s largest bank, BML would continue to support individuals and businesses with round-the-clock banking.

BML recently announced the expansion of services at its Maafushi branch to offer a full range of banking solutions and services.

The country’s national bank revealed that their Maafushi branch currently operates as a full-fledged branch offering all services including USD deposits and withdrawals, loans and financing applications, cheque deposits, issuing statements as well as currency exchange.

BML remains committed to support individuals, businesses and communities nationwide, boasting a nationwide network of 38 branches across all 20 atolls, 86 self-service banking centers, 144 ATMs, cash agents stationed across all inhabited islands and a full suite of digital banking services.
