A summons notice has been publicized for an individual wanted in connection with an ongoing probe.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the case is being investigated by the police station in Dhaandhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll.
In a publication on Thursday, the police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspect and handover his summons notice have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
The man wanted in connection with the probe is allegedly involved in a case of fraudulently acquiring money from an individual.
Summoned is Ahmed Shaaheen, 36 and native to Guraidhoo island in Thaa atoll.
Police revealed that the suspect is summoned for questioning regarding the case.
The suspect is to present himself to the GA. Dhaandhoo Police Station or the police station closest to him at 2pm on May 30.
