Foreigner remanded for assaulting local with sharp weapon
 
No serious injuries were attained

A foreigner has been remanded for assaulting a Maldivian.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the incident was reported to authorities on Wednesday evening.

The foreigner is to have assaulted the Maldivian with a sharp weapon, on Lansimoo Magu, Hulhumalé Phase I.

The injured individual was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

MPS cited doctors at the hospital having revealed that the victim did not attain any serious injuries and that the victim’s arm was wounded.

The foreigner was arrested shortly after.

Upon being presented to the Hulhumalé Magistrate Court for a remand hearing, the foreigner was remanded for a period of 15 days.
