Ooredoo Maldives has launched their ‘Saudi Passport’ travel SIM.

In a publication on Monday, the telecommunications giant announced the unveiling of ‘Saudi Passport’, a dedicated roaming SIM card intended to provide seamless connectivity and excellent rates for pilgrims during the Hajj season.

According to the telecom provider, the SIM card comes bundled with 15GB out of which 10GB is regular and 5GB is BOTIM, of roaming data as well as 60 minutes of voice calls both receiving and calling, alongside 60 SMS. Any additional data will be charged an affordable amount of MVR 0.99 per MB.

Ooredoo revealed that their purpose is to ensure customers stay connected with loved ones and access essential services during their Hajj pilgrimage, with the Saudi Passport SIM.

Customers will be able to enjoy unbeatable rates for calls, SMS as well as data, personalized specifically for the Hajj season.

The SIMs will ensure customers stay connected, during their sacred journey.

Further, customers can reap benefits from Ooredoo's strong roaming coverage across all major Hajj pilgrimage sites.

To activate, customers will be required to insert the Ooredoo Saudi Passport SIM into their mobile devices.

Speaking during a ceremony held to officially launch the Saudi Passport, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed revealed that the country is witnessing an important step towards enhancing connectivity and convenience for pilgrims, with the launching of Ooredoo’s Saudi Passport travel SIM.

Highlighting that this initiative simplifies communication for those going for Hajj pilgrimage this season, Minister Shaheem added that it also exemplifies Ooredoo’s commitment to leverage technology to deliver on the needs of the community.

Minister Shaheem applauded the telecom provider for this “thoughtful” initiative.
