Three arrested for threatening officers with knives, remanded

MPS Professional Standards Command is looking into complaints regarding the manner in which the arrests were made
Arrested were a 35-year-old and two 39-year-olds

The three individuals arrested for threatening officers of the Maldives Police Service (MPS), with knives, have been remanded.

The Criminal Court ordered to remand them for a period of seven days.

MPS revealed that arrested in connection with the case were three Maldivian men, one 35 years of age and two 39-year-olds.

The incident is to have occurred at around 10pm on Saturday.

The three suspects are to have threatened and assaulted two police officers dressed in plain clothes.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with this case.

The police institution went on to reveal that the police Professional Standards Command is currently probing complaints regarding the manner in which the arrests were made.
