Two individuals wanted in connection with an ongoing probe, have been summoned.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the case is being investigated by their Drugs and Substance Abuse Control Department.
In a publication on Wednesday, the police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspects and handover their summons notice have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track them down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
Summoned are Easa Waseem, 36 and native to Kaashidhoo island of Kaafu atoll and Mohamed Ismail, 47 and native to Thulusdhoo island of Kaafu atoll.
Police revealed that the suspects are summoned for questioning regarding the case.
The suspects are to present themselves to the Sergeant Adam Haleem Crime Investigation Building or the police station closest to him at 12pm on May 23.
