Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for four wanted in connection with drug cases.
The police institution revealed that the case is being investigated by their Drug Enforcement Department (DED).
The manhunt was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspects and handover their summons notice have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track them down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
Being located in connection with the probe are Aminath Sheeza Ali, 33, resident of Hulhumalé, Hassan Nabeel, 42, native to Kanduhulhudhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll, Eesa Ibrahim Fulhu, 46, native to Thimarafushi island of Thaa atoll and Yoosuf Mohamed Zaeem, 31 and native to capital Malé City.
Police revealed that the suspects are being summoned for questioning regarding the cases being investigated by DED.
They are to present themselves to the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building or the police station closest to them, at 2pm on 14 May 2024.
