Bank of Maldives (BML) has recognized and celebrated their outstanding employees.
The ceremony for the country’s national bank’s annual staff awards was held at Crossroads Maldives on Friday.
In a press release, BML revealed that the awards were conferred by BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Karl Stumke, members of the Board of Directors as well as management.
Customer Service Manager Mohamed Shaig Ahmed was awarded the prestigious Employee of the Year Award.
The bank’s branch in Naifaru island of Lhaviyani atoll won the CEO’s Award for Outstanding Achievement.
Head of Business and SME Banking Ali Farish Khaleel was awarded the Best Leader Award and Azan Rasheed from the Terminal Management Unit won the Best Manager Award.
Further, awards were presented to staff and teams who excelled over the past year, including Best Atoll Branch, Best Atoll Employee, Best Team, Customer Service Star and Award for Innovation.
BML’s CEO and Managing Director Stumke revealed that the exemplary performance of their staff leads the bank towards success.

He went on to reveal that BML reported a record performance last year, marking the first time the bank crossed MVR two billion in profit.
Adding that this was only possible with the hard work of the team, as well as their contribution, Stumke thanked all members of the team.
BML also hosts ‘Staff Awards’ annually to honor its top performing staff and the Long Service Awards to recognize the loyal service of their employees.
With the largest banking network in the country, BML is also one of the largest employers in the country.
More than 99 percent of the bank’s staff are proud Maldivians and more than a third are based in islands nationwide.
