Discussions have been held on the development needs of the community of Feeali island in Faafu atoll.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s councilors and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) members as part of his tour of several islands in Faafu atoll which he began on Saturday.

Discussions at the meeting, held at the Secretariat of the Feeali Council, revolved around crucial development initiatives needed for the island’s progress.

Councilors shed light on the need to complete land reclamation and expedite the construction of the new health center building as well as to find a solution to the housing issue facing the community.

They also urged to address the shortage of school space and constructing a new mosque, as swiftly as possible.

Councilors expressed keenness to see an initiative to improve the capacity of the island’s power plant, as well as to ensure adequate ice plant services.

In addition to this, the council stressed on the importance of a new structure for the local office and the availability of RTL ferry services.

President Muizzu expressed that the land reclamation project on the island would mirror the desires of the island residents and added that more development projects are underway.
