An accident has occurred after a speedboat collided with a dinghy near Hulhumalé.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of the accident at around 08:07pm on Tuesday.

The accident occurred after a speedboat collided with the dinghy near Banana Reef, in the capital Malé City’s suburban extension.

Injured in the collision were a Maldivian and an expatriate onboard the dinghy.

However, no one is to have suffered any serious injuries.

According to the police, 22 individuals were on board the speedboat at the time of the collision.

No one inside the speedboat attained injuries.

The speedboat, ‘Blue Sergeant’ was en route to Sheraton Resort from Himmafushi island when the accident occurred.
