A taxi driver has been arrested for crashing into a traffic police officer on the bridge highway.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening, after a taxi driver turning onto the highway from the airport road, is seen ramming into a police officer after losing control of the vehicle.

Chief Superintendent, Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan revealed that the officer hit by the taxi is currently in good health.

The taxi driver has since been arrested.

A video that went viral on social media platforms following the incident, shows the taxi pulling onto the bridge highway, before losing control and crashing into the police officer overseeing traffic near the traffic light.

The officer was facing his back to the car when he was hit, and a police car is seen driving past just before the taxi driver lost control.

Further investigations are currently underway, in connection with the incident.
